Irene E. (Ashenfelter) Dirting standing by a bench.

Irene was the daughter of George David (1872-1966) and Metta Oris (Hite) (1873-1949) Ashenfelter.

She was raised by Whiten and Frances (Rosenberger) Bowman when her own mother abandoned her and her father could not care for her on his own.

She married John Landon Dirting, a retired Prohibition Agent, when she was in her fifties.

The name, "Ashenfelter", is written on the glass plate.
