Mary Belle Obermier

Mary Belle Obermier was bon in Edinburg Virginia and graduated from Edinburg High School. Afterwhich, she attended F.E. Palmer’s secretarial class in Woodstock and used those skills to get a job as a bookkepper at Jelleffs in Washingon DC. Later she graduated from the Lindse Hopkins Secretarial School and ended her career as a secretary at the Coral Gables Federal Savings Bank.

 

After retiring Mary moved to Florida, but while visiting her sister in Woodstock she met, and later married John Obermier. They moved to a house in Fort Valley’s Delbeck community. There she became a member of the Front Royal Presbyterian Church, the Fort Valley Museum, and the Fort Valley Senior Homemakers Club. She died in 2012.
