Mary Lee Dysart

Mary Lee Dysart

Mary Lee Dysart was a Warren County native who became an integral part of her community west of Woodstock on Route 42. Her and her husband Bill ran Dysart’s grocery, a general store that sold a wide array of products to locals. This store was open 14 hours a day in the summer and 12 hours a day in the winter time.

Their enterprise occupied most of Mary’s time. She noted it was “very confining but we love it and love meeting all the people who come in.” They loved the store so much they rarely left. She explained “unless one of us needs stiches… we don’t leave our house or store.”

Mary died in 2011.
