Charlotte Bauserman Helsley
Helsley, Charlotte Frances Bauserman (1922-1997)
Portrait of Charlotte Bauserman Helsley with short curly hair.
Charlotte was the daughter of George Washington and Martha Belle (Compton) Bauserman. The 1930 census found her living in Clarke County with her parents and two sisters, Helen and Martha. Her father worked in an orchard there.
In 1948, when she married Elmer Arthur Helsley, Jr. (1918-1989), she lived in Woodstock and worked as a Secretary at the American Viscose Plant (the plant later became Avtex Fibers) in Front Royal. Her husband was a farmer, son of Elmer A. and Mattie (Hockman) Helsley. It appears they spent the rest of their lives in Woodstock and had at least two daughters: Sandra Fay Helsey and Sherry Norma Helsley.
