This is the same image that appears on page 559 of John W. Wayland's book, "A History of Shenandoah County, Virginia".
Born February 1, 1806, Green Berry Samuels was admitted to the bar in 1827 and established a legal practice in Woodstock Virginia. He served in the US Congress from 1839-1841 and a delegate to the Virginia Constitutional in 1850. In 1850 he was appointed Circuit Court Judge for Virginia 14th Circuit and elevated to the Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals in 1859. He died January 5, 1859 and is buried at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Woodstock.
Samuels was married to Maria Gore Coffman on April 12, 1831. They had five children who reached adulthood, Elizabeth, Isaac, Anna, Green Berry Jr., and Samuel.

As of 2022, the building still stands at the intersection of Main and Court Streets in Woodstock.
Several other businesses were housed in the building along with the bank. Advertisements for the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce, Herrell's Real Estate, W.H. Calvert's Insurance, and an unidentified Dentist appears on the building's first and second floor windows.
A portion of the building housing the Woodstock Fruit and ___ Market is included in the image.

Heller, John Allen (1861-1936)
Holiday decorations visible on the porch of the Heller House, located on West Court Street in Woodstock. John Allen Heller, and his wife, Alice Heller lived there with their children. Daughters were: Elizabeth "Bess" and Mary; two sons were named: John and LaRue Heller.
