Copy of a letter sent from Franklin D. Roosevelt to A (Absalom) Willis Robertson concerning the possible closure of Camp Roosevelt, the Civilian Conservation Corps Camp located near Edinburg Virginia. Robertson at the time was the Congressional Representative for the 7th district of Virginia which included Shenandoah County. This copy of the letter was forwarded by Robertson to the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce who was lobbying to help keep the camp open.

Document appointing Joseph W. Evans Postmaster of Edinburg Virginia. He was appointed on July 29, 1868. This document was signed by St. John Bull Skinner, acting postmaster general on August 11 1868.
Joseph Evans would serve as postmaster in Edinburg until 1889. The post office was located in his home/shoeshop at 100 N. Main St. Edinburg Virginia.

An account of the resource
Photograph showing the aftermath of a wreck involving a train on the the "Dinky" Railroad which connected Edinburg Virginia with the iron operations at Liberty Furnace. The wreck occured on March 2, 1911 when the railroad trestle crossing Stony Creek near Three Mile Mountain collapsed with the train on top. Engineer James Sine was killed and Fireman Thomas Foltz was seriously injured. The cause of the accident was a decayed timber in the bridge. The line reopened in a few weeks.
