Description
Photograph showing John E. Bemis with his 1913 Model T touring car. He was arrested soon after buying this car for speeding in Woodstock. The officer, who was riding a bicycle, reported he was travelling 15 miles per hour. Bemis was at one time owner and operator of the Woodstock Hotel. He lived from December 19, 1881 until October 11, 1966 and is buried in Massanutten Cemetery in Woodstock.
