Color postcard with a picture of the Valley Diner and its dining room. The diner was located just north of Toms Brook Virginia. According to the card the diner specialized in Home Cooking, country style chicken, steaks, chops, home made pies and cakes. Owned and operated by Mrs. Edward Wilkson.

My uncles loved to come here to have a beer. I was too young for that. But they had excellent hamburgers. For quite awhile,  Murdock's restaurant was just a bit north. That's been gone for decades. It had a similar menu. 

When the Virginian truck stop off 181 opened in the early 1970s it was pretty much the end for these rt 11 holdovers. However,  2020s seem to show a comeback for the rt 11 corridor.
