This small frame structure was built in the early 19th century and became known as the Jordan property.

It has served Mt. Jackson in various ways. Primarily it has been a commercial institution, providing a home to many town businesses. Initially it was a store, and home to the town’s first post office. Later it became a school, used first by a private institution and later by the public schools as overflow classroom space. In the mid-20th century it became a cobbler’s shop where many residents had their shoes made or repaired.

At the turn of the 21st century it became a weaving and gift store. Today it is a gift shop.
