Mt. Jackson ABC Store

On March 17, 1964 the Mt. Jackson Town Council certified a petition from its citizens asking the state ABC Board to construct a liquor store in the town. On August 11th of that year the board approved the request, noting a referendum was not needed since the town's population was under 1000. Two years later the store was completed and Mt. Jackson became the first town in Shenandoah County to have an operating ABC store.
