Dora Isabel Richman grew up in Maurertown, daughter of the late Walter Elliott (1904-1977) and Lucy Virginia (Richard) (1904-1975) Richman. She was a graduate of Woodstock High School. She married Warren Luther Lambert (1920-1978) in the 1940’s and their first child, Carolyn June Lambert, arrived in August 1948. A son, Richard Warren Lambert followed the following year. In 1950, the family lived on South Commerce Street in Woodstock. Dora did not work and had two small children at home. Her husband worked at a dairy where his job was in the refrigeration part of the operation. When Isabel died, she was a retired nurse from Shenandoah Memorial Hospital in Woodstock. She had also been a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Woodstock. Volunteers from the historical society worked over the next several decades to house, number, and scan each image. This effort resulted in over two tons of Morrison plates and negatives being processed and digitized. This collection contains those digitized versions of these photographs. Through a partnership between the historical society and the Shenandoah County Library's Truban Archives access to a growing number of these images is available to the public. Current projections indicate the full collection will be available for viewing sometime in 2028. This collection does contain some images of a sexual and/or graphic nature that some viewers may find inappropriate. Court Street in Woodstock after several years of working in the area as a travelling photographer. Between that time, and the time his grandson James Morrison closed the studio in 1988, the Morrison family captured thousands of portraits, landscapes, and buildings on film and glass negatives.
