He was born in Wardensville, West Virginia, and grew up in the Wheatfield community of Shenandoah County, near Strasburg. His parents were Erol Leslie and Bettie Catherine (Snarr) Himelright. When he registered for the WWII draft, Harry lived in Hyattsville, Maryland, and worked at Washington's National Airport. He was described as being 5'9" tall, 170 pounds with blue eyes, red hair, and a scar on his right shoulder. He married Ida Mae Smith in 1943 in Riverdale, Maryland. The couple had at least three children together before they divorced in 1963. His second wife was Thelma Virginia (Robinson) Himelright from Warren County. The couple married in 1964, but divorced about five years later. At that time, he lived in Elkton and worked in a department store in Rockingham County where he managed the appliance department. Harry was a retired mechanic and lived in Edinburg when he died. He is buried in Lebanon Church. Rhinehart wearing a suit and tie. James was born in Woodstock, the only son of Robert E. Lee (1879-1941) and Blanche Mae (Ryan) (1890-1959) Rhinehart. His father worked for a local telephone company and later operated a draying business. James grew up on Muhlenberg Street in Woodstock and had three older sisters. He graduated from Woodstock High School. He worked at Southern Dairies in Woodstock until he enlisted in the U.S. Army in August 1943. At first, he was stationed at Ft. Eustis, Virginia, then Ft. Meade, Maryland. By the late summer of 1944, however, he was fighting in France with Company C in the 175th Infantry Regiment of the 29th Infantry Division. Tragically, he was killed in action that September. Posthumously, he was awarded a purple heart for his actions. Private Rhinehart is buried in Normandy, France. Court Street in Woodstock after several years of working in the area as a travelling photographer. Between that time, and the time his grandson James Morrison closed the studio in 1988, the Morrison family captured thousands of portraits, landscapes, and buildings on film and glass negatives. In 1999 the Shenandoah County Historical Society acquired over 31,000 of these negatives from the estate of local collector Charles D. Bauserman. Volunteers from the historical society worked over the next several decades to house, number, and scan each image. This effort resulted in over two tons of Morrison plates and negatives being processed and digitized. This collection contains those digitized versions of these photographs. Through a partnership between the historical society and the Shenandoah County Library's Truban Archives access to a growing number of these images is available to the public. Current projections indicate the full collection will be available for viewing sometime in 2028. This collection does contain some images of a sexual and/or graphic nature that some viewers may find inappropriate. At the time this photograph was made, Floyd was an Aviation Electrician's mate. Floyd was born in Maurertown, a son of Sadie Good Rittenour. He remained in Shenandoah County until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943, where he served in the South Pacific during World War II aboard the USS Talita. He retired as maintenance supervisor from the Automatic Service Company after 22 years of service. He was a member of the Edinburg VFW Post 2447 and St. John's United Methodist Church in Edinburg. He married Anna Frances (George) Good, and helped raise their four children: Michael Good, Carolyn (Good) Reger, Shelly Good-Cook, and Kelly Good-Singleton.
