Dora Isabel Richman grew up in Maurertown, daughter of the late Walter Elliott (1904-1977) and Lucy Virginia (Richard) (1904-1975) Richman. She was a graduate of Woodstock High School. She married Warren Luther Lambert (1920-1978) in the 1940’s and their first child, Carolyn June Lambert, arrived in August 1948. A son, Richard Warren Lambert followed the following year. In 1950, the family lived on South Commerce Street in Woodstock. Dora did not work and had two small children at home. Her husband worked at a dairy where his job was in the refrigeration part of the operation. When Isabel died, she was a retired nurse from Shenandoah Memorial Hospital in Woodstock. She had also been a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Woodstock. (Gochenour) Alexander as a young woman. Vada was from Woodstock, the twin sister of Vera Gochenour. Her parents were Ben and Georgia (Stultz) Gochenour. Vada graduated from the Rockingham Memorial Hospital (RMH) School of Nursing, probably in 1947, and lived in Harrisonburg until 2005, when she moved to Bridgewater. In 1948, Vada married Joseph Alfred Alexander. The couple raised two children together: Joseph Philip Alexander and Dorethia "Dea" (Alexander) Baldwin. After raising her family, she worked for 13 years as an industrial nurse for Dunham Bush. She was the founder of the Harrisonburg - Rockingham Parkinson Support Group, and was known by both residents and staff throughout the Bridgewater Retirement Community as the "Plant Lady" because she nurtured and watered all the potted plants. Court Street in Woodstock after several years of working in the area as a travelling photographer. Between that time, and the time his grandson James Morrison closed the studio in 1988, the Morrison family captured thousands of portraits, landscapes, and buildings on film and glass negatives. In 1999 the Shenandoah County Historical Society acquired over 31,000 of these negatives from the estate of local collector Charles D. Bauserman. Volunteers from the historical society worked over the next several decades to house, number, and scan each image. This effort resulted in over two tons of Morrison plates and negatives being processed and digitized. This collection contains those digitized versions of these photographs. Through a partnership between the historical society and the Shenandoah County Library's Truban Archives access to a growing number of these images is available to the public. Current projections indicate the full collection will be available for viewing sometime in 2028. This collection does contain some images of a sexual and/or graphic nature that some viewers may find inappropriate. Anna was from Edinburg, the daughter of Milton Lloyd and Anna Mary (Fravel) Hite. Not long after she graduated from Shenandoah Conservatory and College (now called Shenandoah University) in Winchester with a degree in music, she moved to Hampton, Virginia, in 1944. Her husband was William Ralph Van Buren, Jr. from Hampton, Virginia. They married in 1951. At the time, he was a newspaper and radio executive. Anna was a band director. The couple raised two children: a daughter, Anna (Van Buren) McNider, and a son, William R. Van Buren, III. Her obituary appeared in the Daily Press Newspaper of Newport News, Virginia, The article, from May 1987, noted she was a "Peninsula cultural leader and a former director of the Daily Press Inc.". When she died, she was the vice chairman and former owner of the company that publishes The Daily Press and the Times Herald newspapers. The obituary also mentioned she was well-known in the Tidewater area for her support of fine arts and had been honored frequently for her community service. Smith, who went to school with the subject in Edinburg. She remembered that Anna had a sister, Hilda (Hite) Ziegler, and a brother, Richard Hite.
