She graduated from Edinburg High School that same year. Anna Mary married Harold Merwin Tuttle (1920-2011), in November 1946 (some records say 1947) in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. Harold had served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII. The 1950 census found the couple and their 2-year old son, James, living with Anna Mary’s brother, Warren Dellinger and his wife, Reba (Hepner) Dellinger (1928-2012), on Underwood Place in N.W. Washington, D.C. Harold was a plumber. At that time, Warren Dellinger worked as a machinist at a U.S. Naval facility in D.C. His wife, Reba, was a telephone operator for Bell Telephone there. They also had a 2-year old son, Stephen. At some point, both families moved back to Shenandoah County and both Anna Mary and her husband are buried in Woodstock while Warren and Reba are buried in Conicville. Her father worked for the railroad in 1920, then became a presser with his own shop (1930), farmed in 1940, and finally, worked as a government mechanic before he retired. In 1940, Elizabeth had completed a year of college and worked as a stenographer in a law office. She was still living with her family in Woodstock. Sometime after July 1956, she married a divorced lawyer with two children, John Vawter Bauserman (1908-1963), who had graduated from the College of William and Mary and obtained his law degree from the University of Virginia. His parents were Joseph Morgan (1865-1934) and Mary Elliott (Van Horn) (1868-1946) Bauserman. John worked as the commissioner of accounts for Shenandoah County from 1934 until his death. Wolverton Subject The topic of the resource Wolverton, Heber Leon (1893-1957) Description An account of the resource Portrait photograph of Heber L. Wolverton wearing a suit and tie. Heber was born near Saumsville, the son of John W. (1870-1966) and Maggie Elizabeth (Spiker) (1867-1945) Wolverton. He grew up on his family’s farm and both the 1910 and 1920 censuses found him there. Heber’s birth was registered late (1942) when a bible (printed in 1884) was shown to the clerk’s office that showed Heber’s entry and date of birth. His father, by then in his eighties, signed the record affirming the information. By 1930, he had been married to Mildred May Hottel (1902-1992) for more than a year. The couple lived with her parents, David Samuel and Lulu Byrd (Hollingsworth) Hottel, on their farm in the Johnston District of Shenandoah County. Heber was a carpenter and worked odd jobs. When Heber registered for the WWII draft, he worked for Dan Burner in Woodstock. Years later, when he died, his employment was as a laborer for a grader manufacturing company. His last residence was in Woodstock. Both he and his wife are buried together in Massanutten Cemetery in Woodstock. Court Street in Woodstock after several years of working in the area as a travelling photographer. Between that time, and the time his grandson James Morrison closed the studio in 1988, the Morrison family captured thousands of portraits, landscapes, and buildings on film and glass negatives. In 1999 the Shenandoah County Historical Society acquired over 31,000 of these negatives from the estate of local collector Charles D. Bauserman. Volunteers from the historical society worked over the next several decades to house, number, and scan each image. This effort resulted in over two tons of Morrison plates and negatives being processed and digitized. This collection contains those digitized versions of these photographs. Through a partnership between the historical society and the Shenandoah County Library's Truban Archives access to a growing number of these images is available to the public. Current projections indicate the full collection will be available for viewing sometime in 2028.
