He was born in Strasburg to George Joseph and Ida L. (Kaplan) Wolfson who had immigrated from Lithuania and married in New York City in 1916. Sammy's father, Joe Wolfson, ran a clothing store located at 183 E. King Street in Strasburg for many years. In the rear, he operated a steam iron and dry cleaning shop while his family lived in the apartment upstairs. They were one of the few Jewish families in Shenandoah County. Sammy had two older siblings, Morton I. and Ada who were both born in Maryland. Sammy married Shirley Florice Winer from Baltimore, Maryland, in the mid 1940's. By 1950, the couple lived in Los Angeles, Burbank, CA, where Sammy was listed as the co-owner of a restaurant. By then they had two children, Cindra L and Mark, and at least three more arrived after that. Sammy lived in California for the rest of his life and is buried in Culver City near Los Angeles. He grew up on a farm on Back Road in the Stonewall District of Shenandoah County. His parents were William Harry Sr. (1884-1979) and Hester Edna Kavanaugh (or Cavinall) (1888-1962) Wilkins. He had many siblings. When he registered for the WWII draft, William lived in Maurertown and worked for Fred Peer. He was described as being 5’6” tall, 125 pounds, and a red-head. He married Helen Louise Tapley (1924-2015) in Maurertown in January 1946. She was the daughter of Berrel and Janet Virginia (Wolverton) Tapley from Warren County. At that time, William was a farmer. Court Street in Woodstock after several years of working in the area as a travelling photographer. Between that time, and the time his grandson James Morrison closed the studio in 1988, the Morrison family captured thousands of portraits, landscapes, and buildings on film and glass negatives. In 1999 the Shenandoah County Historical Society acquired over 31,000 of these negatives from the estate of local collector Charles D. Bauserman. Volunteers from the historical society worked over the next several decades to house, number, and scan each image. This effort resulted in over two tons of Morrison plates and negatives being processed and digitized. This collection contains those digitized versions of these photographs. Through a partnership between the historical society and the Shenandoah County Library's Truban Archives access to a growing number of these images is available to the public. Current projections indicate the full collection will be available for viewing sometime in 2028. This collection does contain some images of a sexual and/or graphic nature that some viewers may find inappropriate. Anna Lee was the second of three children born to John Abraham (1896-1969) and Mary Virginia (Shank) (1896-1979) Myers. Ann Lee married Vernon Eugene Wilson (1917-2013) in Florida in 1946. He was from San Antonio, Texas, and a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps stationed at the Boca Raton Army Air Field when they met. Their marriage lasted 63 years, much of that spent in the Air Force. The couple retired in 1968 to Biloxi, Mississippi. They raised two daughters together: Jayne and Sue. When Anna Lee died, she was buried in San Antonio, Bexar, Texas. Her last residence was Biloxi, Mississippi. The name, "Myers", is written on the glass plate negative.
