Volunteers from the historical society worked over the next several decades to house, number, and scan each image. Caskey wearing his school’s uniform, probably taken around the time he graduated from Massanutten Military Academy (MMA). Caskey is best remembered for his decades-long involvement with the school and as being one of the founders of the MMA Alumni Association. Caskey was born and grew up in Martinsburg, West Virginia. His parents were William Rufus (1874-1969) and Dora (Matthaie) (1879-1969) Caskey. His father owned and operated a successful bakery (Caskey’s Bakery) in Martinsburg until it was sold in 1952. As a child, he attended football games with his parents at MMA. Later, he returned to Woodstock as a student and was a 1931 MMA graduate. He continued his education, graduating from West Virginia University in 1936. Later, he served in Maryland’s Army National Guard during WWII. He also operated Caskey Supply Company in Martinsburg for many years until he retired. He married Naomi J. (Hagen) (1915-1999) Caskey and the couple had two daughters: Jennifer Lynette (1954-2015) and Naomi Caskey. After his graduation from MMA, Caskey maintained contact with the school. He volunteered his time and energy to help start up the alumni association, later becoming its vice president. He was elected executive president of the MMA Alumni Association in 1975, a position he held for 22 years. In 1983, he was also elected to the Board of Trustees at MMA, representing alumni interests there. By 1989, the alumni association began paying him for his service. At the time of his death, he was the alumni director emeritus at MMA. He died in 2004 at the age of 90 while vacationing at Jekyll Island, Georgia. Through a partnership between the historical society and the Shenandoah County Library's Truban Archives access to a growing number of these images is available to the public. His wife was Ann T. Hundley and they had two sons, Wilbur O. Riley Jr., of Woodstock and George T. Riley of California, and a daughter, Susan (Riley) Lambiotte of Woodstock. In 1999 the Shenandoah County Historical Society acquired over 31,000 of these negatives from the estate of local collector Charles D. Bauserman. Volunteers from the historical society worked over the next several decades to house, number, and scan each image. This effort resulted in over two tons of Morrison plates and negatives being processed and digitized. This collection contains those digitized versions of these photographs. Through a partnership between the historical society and the Shenandoah County Library's Truban Archives access to a growing number of these images is available to the public. Current projections indicate the full collection will be available for viewing sometime in 2028. This collection does contain some images of a sexual and/or graphic nature that some viewers may find inappropriate. He was born in Augusta, West Virginia, the son of the late George W. and Virginia (Hawkins) Riley. He graduated from Lynchburg College and served in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. After that, he worked for 20 years as a Chevrolet Dealer in Woodstock. Web was very active in his community serving as Mayor, former member of the Virginia House of Delegates, former President of the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce, a realtor and an appraiser, a prime mover in the establishment of the Shenandoah County Memorial Hospital, a member of the Board of Directors of the Shenandoah Telephone Co., the Farmers Bank of Edinburg and Elder and member of the Woodstock Christian Church. His wife was Ann T. Hundley and they had two sons, Wilbur O. Riley Jr., of Woodstock and George T. Riley of California, and a daughter, Susan (Riley) Lambiotte of Woodstock.
