However, in November 1963, they married each other again. Their son, Bill, was born sometime during this time. This second attempt at their marriage ended in divorce on March 19, 1974. The next day, Dorothy married another man, Ashby Edwards. That marriage lasted until February 23, 1983, when they divorced. Dorothy died only a few years later. The man on the right has been identified as Joseph Baker Sibert. The other man is unidentified. Joseph was born in Toms Brook to Robert Carman (1890-1955) and Ruth Violet (Baker) (1890-1946) Sibert. He grew up on his parents’ farm and married in 1942 just before he entered the military where he served for four years. His wife was Florence Sidney (Miller) Sibert (1918-2014), born in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, to Milton Frederick (1890-1962) and Mabel Virginia (Reinhart) (1897-1951) Miller. After his military service Joseph returned to Toms Brook where he spent his life farming. The couple was married over 50 years when Joseph died. Both he and his wife are buried in the Mt. Olive Methodist Church Cemetery in Toms Brook. Title A name given to the resource Morrison Studio Collection Subject The topic of the resource Morrison, Hugh Jr. (1871-1950) Morrison, Louis Morrison, James Description An account of the resource In 1899 Hugh Morrison Jr. opened a photograph studio on W. Court Street in Woodstock after several years of working in the area as a travelling photographer. Between that time, and the time his grandson James Morrison closed the studio in 1988, the Morrison family captured thousands of portraits, landscapes, and buildings on film and glass negatives. In 1999 the Shenandoah County Historical Society acquired over 31,000 of these negatives from the estate of local collector Charles D. Bauserman. Volunteers from the historical society worked over the next several decades to house, number, and scan each image. This effort resulted in over two tons of Morrison plates and negatives being processed and digitized. This collection contains those digitized versions of these photographs. Through a partnership between the historical society and the Shenandoah County Library's Truban Archives access to a growing number of these images is available to the public. Current projections indicate the full collection will be available for viewing sometime in 2028. This collection does contain some images of a sexual and/or graphic nature that some viewers may find inappropriate. Alice (Miller) Bell was the daughter of Cletus Eugene Sr. and Eula Virginia (Kohne) Miller. She was born in Jerome. She graduated from Osbourn High School in Manassas, VA, and married her high school sweetheart, Ralph Phillip Bell, a farmer from Haymarket. After their 1961 marriage, they settled in Haymarket, where they reared their four children. She lived out her last 30+ years in The Plains. The name, "Cletus Miller", is written on the glass plate negative of this image.
