Felix was born in Spain and immigrated around 1926. He married Mildred (Ramey) Sousa (1907-2001), from Woodstock, in 1930 when he was the “proprietor of the cleaning and pressing shop” at Massanutten Military Academy (MMA). His wife was the daughter of Eugene Hupp and Margaret Elizabeth (Hoffman) Ramey. Felix had been at MMA for a couple of years by then. A few years after they married, the couple moved to Staunton, Virginia, where Felix and his wife raised two daughters: Peggy and Roberta Ann Sousa. When Felix registered for the WWII draft in 1942, he worked for Shenandoah Tailoring in Mt. Sidney, Virginia. By 1950, the family had moved back to Woodstock where the census found him and his wife living on West Locust Street. Felix was still listed as a tailor. When he died more than 30 years later, his death certificate revealed that neither his address nor his occupation had changed. Annabelle lived in Edinburg and was the daughter of Lester Earl (1899-1994) and Margie Jane (Fadeley) (1904-1990) Polk. In 1945, she married Walter David Clem (1923-1995), a 22-year old Navy man born in Fort Valley to Tobias Samuel and Maggie Catherine (Walters) Clem. The marriage did not work out well and by the 1950 census, Annabelle was back at home with her parents and working as a bookkeeper for a fruit & produce company. The couple divorced about a year later. Walter was working as a street car conductor in Washington D.C., while Annabelle was still in Edinburg. Annabelle remained in Shenandoah County for the rest of her life. She did not have children. She was working as a mortgage loan clerk at a bank when she died suddenly and unexpectedly of an aneurism. Leo was from Tyrone, Pennsylvania, the son of Peter Franklin (1857-1929) and Elizabeth “Lizzie” (Fowler) (1857-1931) Garman. He married Mary Caroline “Carrie” (Woodring) (1889-1991) Garman in 1914. She was a schoolteacher from Port Matilda, Pennsylvania. Her parents were William and Nancy A. (Turner) Woodring. In 1910, her father was a teamster at a grocery store and her mother was a salesperson in a dry goods store. Together, they had two sons: Leo LeMoyne Jr. (1915-1995) and Donald Herbert (1917-1989) Garman. When he registered for the WWI draft, Leo was a bookkeeper in a bank in Tyrone. His emergency contact was his wife, Mary Caroline Garman. In 1920 and 1930, the family still lived in Tyrone and Leo was still working in a bank. Sometime after April 1935, the family moved to Woodstock and rented a home on Muhlenberg Street. The 1940 and 1950 censuses found them still living there. Leo managed a variety store called Ben Franklin, originally located on North Main Street in downtown Woodstock. His wife also worked there. After Leo died in 1952, his son, Donald H. Garman, continued to operate the store. Leo and his wife are buried together in Massanutten Cemetery, Woodstock. Court Street in Woodstock after several years of working in the area as a travelling photographer. Between that time, and the time his grandson James Morrison closed the studio in 1988, the Morrison family captured thousands of portraits, landscapes, and buildings on film and glass negatives. In 1999 the Shenandoah County Historical Society acquired over 31,000 of these negatives from the estate of local collector Charles D. Bauserman. Volunteers from the historical society worked over the next several decades to house, number, and scan each image. This effort resulted in over two tons of Morrison plates and negatives being processed and digitized. This collection contains those digitized versions of these photographs. Through a partnership between the historical society and the Shenandoah County Library's Truban Archives access to a growing number of these images is available to the public. Current projections indicate the full collection will be available for viewing sometime in 2028. This collection does contain some images of a sexual and/or graphic nature that some viewers may find inappropriate. Joycie was the daughter of James Booten and Mildred (Cook) Grandstaff. She grew up with at least four siblings. She first married Roy Lee Peer (1921-1971), the son of Marion Franklin and Betty (Wymer) Peer. In the 1950 census, Joycie and Roy lived on Route 11 in the Stonewall District of Shenandoah County where Roy worked as a truck driver for a retail machine company and Joycie raised their two sons, Gerald Odell and Dennis Lee Peer. A few years after her husband died, in 1976, Joycie married Paul William Wilkins (1910-1995). He was the son of William Isaac and Esta Holler Wilkins. Joycie and Paul lived in Woodstock. Mary Anna Webster was born in Zepp to Floyd Carson and Valley Maude (Plauger) Webster, a farming couple. Mary had at least six siblings growing up. She married Ernest Calvin Ryman (1924-1999) in February 1946 in Woodstock. He was in the U.S. Army at the time. His parents were Otis L. and Mary Ellen (Tewalt) Ryman, from Woodstock. In the 1950 census, Mary and Ernest lived and farmed in the Johnston District of the county. They had two young children, Floyd C. and Mary J.
