Vada graduated from the Rockingham Memorial Hospital (RMH) School of Nursing, probably in 1947, and lived in Harrisonburg until 2005, when she moved to Bridgewater. In 1948, Vada married Joseph Alfred Alexander. The couple raised two children together: Joseph Philip Alexander and Dorethia "Dea" (Alexander) Baldwin. After raising her family, she worked for 13 years as an industrial nurse for Dunham Bush. She was the founder of the Harrisonburg - Rockingham Parkinson Support Group, and was known by both residents and staff throughout the Bridgewater Retirement Community as the "Plant Lady" because she nurtured and watered all the potted plants. She retired after 20 years from the United States Postal Service and after 26 years as a Shenandoah County school bus driver. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and was appointed to the Toms Brook Town Council in 1964. Her husband was Albert Earl Rinker. They raised two sons together, Randolph and Steve. Timothy Lehmann Jr. was born September 11, 1906, in Baltimore, Maryland. He graduated from Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1930 and was a practicing Medical Doctor in Columbus, Ohio, through 1940. In the 1940 census, he lived with his wife, Marie Alice Williams (married 1931), and his son, Timothy Lehmann III, on High Street in Columbus, Ohio. Sometime around 1949, he moved to Edinburg to live with his parents, Rev. Dr. Timothy Lehmann and Martha (Menzel) Lehmann. In the 1950 census, he is listed as "unable to work" and had not held a job in the previous year. His wife and son were not listed. Later he would live in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and then Thornville, Ohio, before dying in 1960, following a car crash. The date, "March 19 1949" and the note "For Tim Lehmann" are written on the glass plate. Court Street in Woodstock after several years of working in the area as a travelling photographer. Between that time, and the time his grandson James Morrison closed the studio in 1988, the Morrison family captured thousands of portraits, landscapes, and buildings on film and glass negatives. In 1999 the Shenandoah County Historical Society acquired over 31,000 of these negatives from the estate of local collector Charles D. Bauserman. Volunteers from the historical society worked over the next several decades to house, number, and scan each image. This effort resulted in over two tons of Morrison plates and negatives being processed and digitized. This collection contains those digitized versions of these photographs. Through a partnership between the historical society and the Shenandoah County Library's Truban Archives access to a growing number of these images is available to the public. Current projections indicate the full collection will be available for viewing sometime in 2028. This collection does contain some images of a sexual and/or graphic nature that some viewers may find inappropriate.
