Court Street in Woodstock after several years of working in the area as a travelling photographer. Between that time, and the time his grandson James Morrison closed the studio in 1988, the Morrison family captured thousands of portraits, landscapes, and buildings on film and glass negatives. In 1999 the Shenandoah County Historical Society acquired over 31,000 of these negatives from the estate of local collector Charles D. Bauserman. Volunteers from the historical society worked over the next several decades to house, number, and scan each image. This effort resulted in over two tons of Morrison plates and negatives being processed and digitized. This collection contains those digitized versions of these photographs. Through a partnership between the historical society and the Shenandoah County Library's Truban Archives access to a growing number of these images is available to the public. She was called "Fanny Lambert" when she was living in Woodstock but became "Cathy" later in her life. Cathy was the youngest of five children born to Clarence and Emma Lou (Jennings) Lambert. She was born and grew up in Woodstock. She married Paul Ewing "Jack" Gorham (1912-1966) in Meigs County, Ohio, in 1946. At that time, he was in the U.S. Army and she was a student. Frances graduated from Ohio State University. She was a teacher and world traveler. She and her husband moved to San Antonio in 1966, where she earned her Masters degree and taught at John Jay High School in San Antonio. She stayed in that community for the rest of her life. Her second husband was Edward Alfred Porter (1927-1982). After he died, she married Richard Herbert Heffernan (1912-1999). When she died, she left behind her son, Richard L. Gorham and his family. Another son, James A. Gorham, had died young. Cathy is buried in Comfort Cemetery in Kendall County, Texas. She married Ray Albert Ryan. They had two children, James Lee and Kathy Ann Ryan. Phyllis was employed with Bowman Apple for 46 years and a volunteer at the gift shop at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital. Court Street in Woodstock after several years of working in the area as a travelling photographer. Between that time, and the time his grandson James Morrison closed the studio in 1988, the Morrison family captured thousands of portraits, landscapes, and buildings on film and glass negatives. In 1999 the Shenandoah County Historical Society acquired over 31,000 of these negatives from the estate of local collector Charles D. Bauserman. Volunteers from the historical society worked over the next several decades to house, number, and scan each image. This effort resulted in over two tons of Morrison plates and negatives being processed and digitized. This collection contains those digitized versions of these photographs. Through a partnership between the historical society and the Shenandoah County Library's Truban Archives access to a growing number of these images is available to the public. Current projections indicate the full collection will be available for viewing sometime in 2028. This collection does contain some images of a sexual and/or graphic nature that some viewers may find inappropriate. Another son, Wayne A. “Butch” Lambert, and a daughter, Bonnie Jo Lambert, were born after this photograph was taken. Ches Lambert was the son of William F. and Mary Lottie (Painter) Lambert, a farming family from the Madison District of Shenandoah County. He married Evelyn (Eckard) Lambert in 1936. In the 1940 census, he worked as a produce dealer and lived in rural Woodstock with his wife. Evelyn Pauline Eckard was born in Hamburg, the daughter of John F. and Vertie Alice Eckard. Evelyn was a 1934 graduate of Madison College and taught public school in Shenandoah County. Jerry Franklin Lambert attended public school in Woodstock, then went to Bridgewater College where he graduated with a degree in business. He married Betty (Bemis) Miller in 1967, and for the next several decades, the couple worked together in the nursing home business, first in Woodstock and then at Staunton Manor Nursing Home, Staunton, Virginia.
