Her husband was Charles Herbert Cummins, Jr. (1924-1975). He was born in Anstead, West Virginia, to Charles Herbert (1895-1962) and Gladys Signora (Tolley) (1895-1963) Cummins. When he married, Herbert was a student living in Arlington, Virginia. The 1950 census found Geneva and Herbert living in the Madison District of Shenandoah County. They lived with Geneva’s parents and two younger siblings. Geneva worked as a bookkeeper in a poultry plant while Herbert worked as a printer’s helper in a printing plant. They had at least one son, Donald, who, as of 2002, lived in Edinburg. Title A name given to the resource Morrison Studio Collection Subject The topic of the resource Morrison, Hugh Jr. (1871-1950) Morrison, Louis Morrison, James Description An account of the resource In 1899 Hugh Morrison Jr. opened a photograph studio on W. Court Street in Woodstock after several years of working in the area as a travelling photographer. Between that time, and the time his grandson James Morrison closed the studio in 1988, the Morrison family captured thousands of portraits, landscapes, and buildings on film and glass negatives. In 1999 the Shenandoah County Historical Society acquired over 31,000 of these negatives from the estate of local collector Charles D. Bauserman. Volunteers from the historical society worked over the next several decades to house, number, and scan each image. This effort resulted in over two tons of Morrison plates and negatives being processed and digitized. This collection contains those digitized versions of these photographs. Through a partnership between the historical society and the Shenandoah County Library's Truban Archives access to a growing number of these images is available to the public. Current projections indicate the full collection will be available for viewing sometime in 2028. This collection does contain some images of a sexual and/or graphic nature that some viewers may find inappropriate. Paul Franklin was the son of Charles Franklin (1877-1953) and Grace Mae (Munch) (1885-1956) Plauger. Evelyn O. McClanahan was the daughter of Mertie Edgar and Maude Estella (Clem) McClanahan. Both families were from Fort Valley. They married in Woodstock on April 20, 1938, when Paul was working for a steamship company and Evelyn was just 16 years old. He was the son of Virgil D. and Bernice (George) Seal. Bill served in the US Army during World War Two and was shot in the knee at Normandy. His leg was amputated while in hospital in England recovering. After the war he returned to Woodstock and worked at the American Viscose Corporation (later called Avtex Fibers) in Front Royal.
