Her father worked for the railroad in 1920, then became a presser with his own shop (1930), farmed in 1940, and finally, worked as a government mechanic before he retired. In 1940, Elizabeth had completed a year of college and worked as a stenographer in a law office. She was still living with her family in Woodstock. Sometime after July 1956, she married a divorced lawyer with two children, John Vawter Bauserman (1908-1963), who had graduated from the College of William and Mary and obtained his law degree from the University of Virginia. His parents were Joseph Morgan (1865-1934) and Mary Elliott (Van Horn) (1868-1946) Bauserman. John worked as the commissioner of accounts for Shenandoah County from 1934 until his death. Court Street in Woodstock after several years of working in the area as a travelling photographer. Between that time, and the time his grandson James Morrison closed the studio in 1988, the Morrison family captured thousands of portraits, landscapes, and buildings on film and glass negatives. In 1999 the Shenandoah County Historical Society acquired over 31,000 of these negatives from the estate of local collector Charles D. Bauserman. Volunteers from the historical society worked over the next several decades to house, number, and scan each image. This effort resulted in over two tons of Morrison plates and negatives being processed and digitized. This collection contains those digitized versions of these photographs. Through a partnership between the historical society and the Shenandoah County Library's Truban Archives access to a growing number of these images is available to the public. Current projections indicate the full collection will be available for viewing sometime in 2028.
