She married Milton Roy McInturff, Jr., the son of Milton Roy and Clara Lee (Sine) McInturff, in 1943. Milton was in the U.S. Navy at the time. The marriage did not last and a divorce was granted in 1948. Her second husband was Jack Miller Kline (1923-1968), a veteran of WWII and the owner of Kline’s Garage, where he was a mechanic. His parents were William Russell and Maude Margaret (Miller) Kline. Charlotte worked as a weaver in the silk mill when the couple married. They both lived in Strasburg. After Jack Kline died, Charlotte married again in 1979. Her third husband was Robert William Porsche (1912-1996), born in Massachusetts. He had lost his first wife in a fire the year before. Leah was the daughter of Charles Monroe and Mary Belle (Richard) Hoover. She lived in Strasburg when she married Kenneth Austin Shillingburg in 1939. That marriage did not last. Leah's second husband was a younger man, Stephen Charles White, born in 1928 in Rover, Missouri. She still lived in Strasburg but married him in Winchester in 1953. At the time, she was a beautician and he was a truck driver. That marriage also did not last. Leah's third husband was Charles H. McDorman, originally from Hinton, Virginia. The couple applied for a marriage license in February 1956 in Anchorage, Alaska, according to a notice in the Anchorage Daily News. Two years later, in February 1958, Leah was in a car driven by her husband when it hit a guard rail at the M.P. Post of Fort Richardson, (which, at the time, was a U.S. Army base adjacent to Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage), and overturned, killing her instantly. Title A name given to the resource Morrison Studio Collection Subject The topic of the resource Morrison, Hugh Jr. (1871-1950) Morrison, Louis Morrison, James Description An account of the resource In 1899 Hugh Morrison Jr. opened a photograph studio on W. Court Street in Woodstock after several years of working in the area as a travelling photographer. Between that time, and the time his grandson James Morrison closed the studio in 1988, the Morrison family captured thousands of portraits, landscapes, and buildings on film and glass negatives. In 1999 the Shenandoah County Historical Society acquired over 31,000 of these negatives from the estate of local collector Charles D. Bauserman. Volunteers from the historical society worked over the next several decades to house, number, and scan each image. This effort resulted in over two tons of Morrison plates and negatives being processed and digitized. This collection contains those digitized versions of these photographs. Through a partnership between the historical society and the Shenandoah County Library's Truban Archives access to a growing number of these images is available to the public. Current projections indicate the full collection will be available for viewing sometime in 2028. This collection does contain some images of a sexual and/or graphic nature that some viewers may find inappropriate.
