Court Street in Woodstock after several years of working in the area as a travelling photographer. Between that time, and the time his grandson James Morrison closed the studio in 1988, the Morrison family captured thousands of portraits, landscapes, and buildings on film and glass negatives. In 1999 the Shenandoah County Historical Society acquired over 31,000 of these negatives from the estate of local collector Charles D. Bauserman. Lucy was born in Alonzaville to Milton Franklin (1849-1930) and Martha Alice (Richard) (1856-1943) Vetter. She married William Harrison Day (1891-1969) in July 1915 in Woodstock. Their first child was born in Hardy County, West Virginia, a couple of years later. Sometime after, the family moved to Arlington where they spent the rest of their lives. In both the 1920 and 1930 censuses, Lucy’s husband worked as a truck driver for the Carry ice cream factory. They raised their four children – Claribel, Jean, Douglas, and Howard L. -- in Arlington. By 1940, William worked as a janitor for Arlington Public Schools. When he died, his death record noted he was a painting contractor. Lucy remained in Arlington after her husband’s death. Both are buried in Columbia Gardens Cemetery, Arlington.
