The couple had at least three children together before they divorced in 1963. His second wife was Thelma Virginia (Robinson) Himelright from Warren County. The couple married in 1964, but divorced about five years later. At that time, he lived in Elkton and worked in a department store in Rockingham County where he managed the appliance department. Harry was a retired mechanic and lived in Edinburg when he died. He is buried in Lebanon Church. This photograph was made about the time she married. Born in Mount Jackson, May was the fourth child born to John Edward and Virginia Alice (Beahm) Wymer. The Wymer family moved to Strasburg when she was a child. In 1930, she lived on C Street and by 1940, she lived on West King Street with her parents and a 1-year old son, Daniel. In 1941, she married Joseph William Preston Himelright (1920-1994). He was born in Frederick County but lived in Strasburg. His parents were Charles Oliver and Vernie May (Sherman) Himelright. When May and Joseph married, he worked at a lime kiln. His employer was the S.E. Stickley National Gypsum Company. May’s husband served as a Private in the U.S. Army during WWII. May and her husband raised their children in Strasburg. The 1950 census found the family at 316 B Street where her husband worked as a mixer at the Viscose plant (later called Avtex Fibers). In 1950, the four children listed were: Danny L. Wymer (born 1939), Linda F. Himelright (born ca 1943), William E. Himelright (born ca 1947), and Charles D. Himelright (born September 1949). When he registered for the WWII draft, Medford lived in Takoma Park, Montgomery County, Maryland, with his family. At that time, Medford worked for H.C. Smith on Van Ness Street in Washington D.C. Medford served in the Army Air Force from 1942-1945, as a Sergeant. While in the military, he married Betty Jo (Anderson) Himelright in 1943 in Mississippi, and together, the couple raised four children.
