Court Street in Woodstock after several years of working in the area as a travelling photographer. Between that time, and the time his grandson James Morrison closed the studio in 1988, the Morrison family captured thousands of portraits, landscapes, and buildings on film and glass negatives. In 1999 the Shenandoah County Historical Society acquired over 31,000 of these negatives from the estate of local collector Charles D. Bauserman. Volunteers from the historical society worked over the next several decades to house, number, and scan each image. This effort resulted in over two tons of Morrison plates and negatives being processed and digitized. This collection contains those digitized versions of these photographs. Through a partnership between the historical society and the Shenandoah County Library's Truban Archives access to a growing number of these images is available to the public. Current projections indicate the full collection will be available for viewing sometime in 2028. This collection does contain some images of a sexual and/or graphic nature that some viewers may find inappropriate. She was born in Page County, Virginia, to James Homer and Annie Delia (Wisman) Richards. She grew up in Woodstock. She lived on N. Church Street in Woodstock. Her father co-owned a shop on N. Main Street next to where the Bank of America is located. Charlotte attended Salem College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and met her husband, Thomas Marshall Arrington there. He was a First Lieutenant attached to the Army Medical Corps when they married in 1945. In the 1950 census, Charlotte and her husband lived at Camp Ritchie, Washington County, Maryland where her husband was a medical supervisor at the chronic disease hospital there. By then, the couple had three children, Thomas Marshal, Jr., James Richard and Cheryl Arrington. Thirty five years later, in 1980, the couple divorced. By then, Charlotte lived in Richmond, Virginia, where she stayed for the rest of her life. Court Street in Woodstock after several years of working in the area as a travelling photographer. Between that time, and the time his grandson James Morrison closed the studio in 1988, the Morrison family captured thousands of portraits, landscapes, and buildings on film and glass negatives. In 1999 the Shenandoah County Historical Society acquired over 31,000 of these negatives from the estate of local collector Charles D. Bauserman. Volunteers from the historical society worked over the next several decades to house, number, and scan each image. This effort resulted in over two tons of Morrison plates and negatives being processed and digitized. This collection contains those digitized versions of these photographs. Through a partnership between the historical society and the Shenandoah County Library's Truban Archives access to a growing number of these images is available to the public. Anna was born in Strasburg, the daughter of David William Hupp and his second wife, Margaret Anne (Hines) Hupp. Her father was a well-known Volunteer Fire Chief in Strasburg. Anna Mae grew up on North Massanutten Street and her father worked as an engineer for the railroad. By 1930, her mother had died. Anna Mae and her younger sister, Irene Elizabeth (1924-2000), lived with their father, paternal grandmother, Amanda, and her father’s cousin, 68-year old Mary E. Hupp. Ten years later, Anna worked as a clerk in a “ten-cent store” and lived with her family on West King Street, still in Strasburg. She married Glenn Ivor Richards (1914-2009) in 1941. He was a radio operator and served in the U.S. Navy. His parents were Ivor Glenn and Pheobe (Evans) Richards from Pennsylvania. Anna Mae and her husband had a daughter, Donna (Richards) Roberts. The couple spent decades together and lived in Houston, Texas, at the time of their deaths. Both are buried there.
