Court Street in Woodstock after several years of working in the area as a travelling photographer. Between that time, and the time his grandson James Morrison closed the studio in 1988, the Morrison family captured thousands of portraits, landscapes, and buildings on film and glass negatives. In 1999 the Shenandoah County Historical Society acquired over 31,000 of these negatives from the estate of local collector Charles D. Bauserman. Volunteers from the historical society worked over the next several decades to house, number, and scan each image. This effort resulted in over two tons of Morrison plates and negatives being processed and digitized. This collection contains those digitized versions of these photographs. (1925-2002) Linaweaver, Emily Isabel Hollar (1924-2012) Description An account of the resource Photo of two separate portrait photographs. The photograph on the left is of Emily Isabel (Hollar) Linaweaver. She was born in Woodstock, the daughter of Lester Granville and Mazie Irene (Lambert) Hollar. She had a career as a licensed practical nurse retiring from Shenandoah Memorial Hospital. The photograph on the right is her husband, Robert L. Linaweaver. His parents were Lawrence Lawson and Essie (Brill) Linaweaver. Robert served in the Airborne Division of the U.S. Army from May 1943 to Dec 1945. When he married, he was a service station operator in Edinburg. The couple married in 1946 and raised five children: Robert Jr., Sue, Rebecca, William, and Richard “Dicky”.
