A stave mill is a facility that processes logs into staves, which are the narrow strips of wood that make up the sides of a barrel. This mill was founded in 1872 and moved to Toms Brook in 1878. It was located along Toms Brook (the waterway) on what became E. Creek Road, approximately 1 block east of US Route 11. The mill was owned by J.S. Borden. It burned in 1918.
