In the 1940 census, he worked as a produce dealer and lived in rural Woodstock with his wife. Evelyn Pauline Eckard was born in Hamburg, the daughter of John F. and Vertie Alice Eckard. Evelyn was a 1934 graduate of Madison College and taught public school in Shenandoah County. Jerry Franklin Lambert attended public school in Woodstock, then went to Bridgewater College where he graduated with a degree in business. He married Betty (Bemis) Miller in 1967, and for the next several decades, the couple worked together in the nursing home business, first in Woodstock and then at Staunton Manor Nursing Home, Staunton, Virginia. He joined the U.S. Army in September 1948. The next year a short article appeared in the Northern Virginia Daily noting he had completed an 8-week clerical course at the Eta Jima School Command in Japan. From there, he was assigned to the 13th Engineer Combat Command to serve as the Battalion Records Clerk. His rank was Private First Class. He was promoted to Sergeant and stationed in Korea. He flew back for a brief visit in 1951. In November 1952, he married Helen Elizabeth Heishman (1928-2004) from Woodstock. Her father was Paul R. Heishman. Benny’s brother, Arthur Clem, served as the best man. After a honeymoon in upstate New York, the couple first lived in Wesley Chapel. They had a son, David Franklin Clem (1953-1953), who did not survive. Both Benny and Helen are buried in Fort Valley. The marriage did not work out and by the 1950 census, Annabelle was back at home with her parents and working as a bookkeeper for a fruit & produce company. The couple divorced about a year later. Walter was working as a street car conductor in Washington D.C., while Annabelle was still in Edinburg. Annabelle remained in Shenandoah County for the rest of her life. She did not have children. She worked at both the Peoples Bank in Mount Jackson and First Virginia Bank. In fact, she was working as a mortgage loan clerk when she died suddenly and unexpectedly of an aneurism. Her mother, Margie Polk, was the informant on the death certificate. Court Street in Woodstock after several years of working in the area as a travelling photographer. Between that time, and the time his grandson James Morrison closed the studio in 1988, the Morrison family captured thousands of portraits, landscapes, and buildings on film and glass negatives. In 1999 the Shenandoah County Historical Society acquired over 31,000 of these negatives from the estate of local collector Charles D. Bauserman. Volunteers from the historical society worked over the next several decades to house, number, and scan each image. This effort resulted in over two tons of Morrison plates and negatives being processed and digitized. This collection contains those digitized versions of these photographs. Through a partnership between the historical society and the Shenandoah County Library's Truban Archives access to a growing number of these images is available to the public. Current projections indicate the full collection will be available for viewing sometime in 2028. This collection does contain some images of a sexual and/or graphic nature that some viewers may find inappropriate.
