It was a second marriage for both of them. They lived in Woodstock and Edinburg for periods of time before moving to Florida sometime after 2010. Clyde’s home was in Port Richey, Florida, at the time of his death. After the war, he worked as a shipping clerk at the Grabill Manufacturing Company and married a secretary there, Dana Lee (Coffman) (1926-2016) in 1948. The couple did not have children and divorced in 1959. The following year, Charles married Joanne Mae (Nofsinger), a garment inspector for the Aileen Company who lived in Strasburg. It was her second marriage. By then, Charles had been working at his father’s business, Bauserman’s Home Improvement Company, for many years. Charles grew up in Woodstock, the son of Thomas Hottel Fravel (1890-1949) and Cary (Funkhouser) (1881-1945) Fravel. In 1940, he worked as an assistant to mortician, V.L. Dellinger. When he registered for the WWII draft, he was still there. He was described as being 6 ft. tall and 140 pounds. He enlisted after high school and served in the U.S. Army as a Private 1st Class from April 1942 to August 1945. In November 1942, while in the Army, he married Mabel Virginia Fansler (1921-2012), in Woodstock. Mabel was from Orkney Springs, the oldest daughter of Boyd Ashby and Edna Blanche (Estep) Fansler. She was a graduate of Triplett High School in Mount Jackson, Virginia. Before marrying she worked at Shaver's Restaurant in Woodstock, from 1940 until 1942 and then at Wender's Department Store from 1942 until 1944. The 1950 census found Charles and Mabel living in Nashville, Tennessee. They had a 6-year old son, Charles, with them. Their daughter, Deborah Cay Fravel, was born five years later. In 1951, the family moved to Arlington, Virginia, where Charles worked as an undertaker. They retired to Basye in 1983. Bernard was born to Charles Monroe (1864-1937) and Annie Maria (Jones) (1864-1930) Getz. His family lived and farmed near “Moores Store”, Virginia. In 1930, Bernard worked as an electrician and lived in the Lee District with his widowed father, sisters, and two teenaged nephews. Soon after, Bernard married Katharine Frances (Sowers) (1896-1959) Getz. Her parents were Clayton Kile (1865-1939) and Laura (Bushong) (1866-1948) Sowers. In 1940, the census found the couple with two sons, Gene Kile Getz (1932-1982) and Grayson Sowers Getz (1935- ). The family lived on Route 11 in the Ashby District of Shenandoah County and Bernard was still an electrician.
