Court Street in Woodstock after several years of working in the area as a travelling photographer. Between that time, and the time his grandson James Morrison closed the studio in 1988, the Morrison family captured thousands of portraits, landscapes, and buildings on film and glass negatives. In 1999 the Shenandoah County Historical Society acquired over 31,000 of these negatives from the estate of local collector Charles D. Bauserman. Volunteers from the historical society worked over the next several decades to house, number, and scan each image. This effort resulted in over two tons of Morrison plates and negatives being processed and digitized. This collection contains those digitized versions of these photographs. Through a partnership between the historical society and the Shenandoah County Library's Truban Archives access to a growing number of these images is available to the public. Current projections indicate the full collection will be available for viewing sometime in 2028. This collection does contain some images of a sexual and/or graphic nature that some viewers may find inappropriate. Identified are: Mary (Gochenour) Fauber, (back), her daughter from her first husband, Alice (Windle) Gochenour (right), her granddaughter, Florence (Gochenour) Reynolds, and her great-granddaughter, Eula Magdalene Reynolds. Mary (Gochenour) Fauber was the daughter of Levi and Mary (Wisman) Gochenour. She had two husbands. The first was Henry Windle (1848-1901) whom she married in 1873. After he died, she marred again in 1903 to Cornelius Fauber (1839-1911). Her daughter, Alice B. (Windle) Gochenour married Calvin Gochenour in 1892 and raised eleven children with him. When she died the newspaper described her as "a well-beloved citizen of the Fairview community". Mary (Gochenour) Fauber's granddaughter, Florence (Gochenour) Reynolds, married Joseph Calvin Reynolds (1891-1991) and had four children. The youngest in this photograph, Eula M. (Reynolds) Swartz, married Charles Irving Swartz (1911-1996) and raised two daughters, Anna Mae and Mary Ruth Swartz. The couple lived near Saumsville.
