Mollie (Wisman) Neeb was from the Stonewall District of Shenandoah County, one of many children born to William Franklin (1824-1889) and Sarah Frances (Orwick) (1827-1915) Wisman, a farming couple. In 1882, she married Luther Neeb (1855-1906), the son of Valentine (1822-1875) and Regina (Coverstone) (1832-1869) Neeb. Luther was a farmer and also worked in the fertilizer business. The couple had no children and lived on a farm just outside the Woodstock town limits, on Fairview Road. Luther died unexpectedly, and the 1910 census found widowed Mary E. Neeb living by herself. In the 1920 census, a 28-year old nephew, Curtis S. Golliday, lived with her, and farmed her land. Mollie stayed on her 60-acre farm, close to Woodstock, for the rest of her life. After she died, the farm was sold at auction. Title A name given to the resource Morrison Studio Collection Subject The topic of the resource Morrison, Hugh Jr. (1871-1950) Morrison, Louis Morrison, James Description An account of the resource In 1899 Hugh Morrison Jr. opened a photograph studio on W. Court Street in Woodstock after several years of working in the area as a travelling photographer. Between that time, and the time his grandson James Morrison closed the studio in 1988, the Morrison family captured thousands of portraits, landscapes, and buildings on film and glass negatives. In 1999 the Shenandoah County Historical Society acquired over 31,000 of these negatives from the estate of local collector Charles D. Bauserman. Volunteers from the historical society worked over the next several decades to house, number, and scan each image. This effort resulted in over two tons of Morrison plates and negatives being processed and digitized. This collection contains those digitized versions of these photographs. Through a partnership between the historical society and the Shenandoah County Library's Truban Archives access to a growing number of these images is available to the public. Current projections indicate the full collection will be available for viewing sometime in 2028. This collection does contain some images of a sexual and/or graphic nature that some viewers may find inappropriate. Estep in his Army uniform and posed beside his wife, Janet Marie (Kronk) Estep. Carroll E. Estep was the son of Thomas Estep and Laura Algier. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in both the African and European Theatres of World War II. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star, and was a past member of the Shenandoah American Legion Post #77. He was a former employee of Avtex, Inc. of Front Royal. He married Janet Marie Kronk in August 1945, just after the war. She was born in Toms Brook,the daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Ethel May (Hahn) Kronk. She was a graduate of Toms Brook High School and had been a member of the school's basketball team. The couple were married for over 64 years when Carroll died. Together the couple had two sons, Randy and Phil. The family lived in Strasburg for many years. Carroll and Janet (Kronk) Estep were buried in Waterlick, at the Panorama Gardens Cemetery, in Warren County. The name, "Estep", is written on the glass plate of this image.
