An image similar to these two was used in the 1967 Central High School yearbook because Gretchen, as a Senior, won the DAR Good Citizenship Award that year. From 1974-2002, Gretchen was on the college faculty, the preparatory faculty and was chair of the Music Theory Department at Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University. From 1981-2005, she was employed by Dunbar Armored Inc., in Hunt Valley, Md., as vice president of Human Resources. At the end of her career, she worked part-time in a human resource capacity at Towson Pharmacy, Towson, Md. Gretchen never married and was buried in Woodstock, Virginia. Court Street in Woodstock after several years of working in the area as a travelling photographer.
