Image shows Jim Strosnider (1923-2013) in a fitness pose. Jim was the son of James Arthur and Virgie Alice (Shillingburg) Strosnider, Sr. He graduated from Strasburg High School. During WWII, Jim served in the Navy where he was the weightlifting champion in 1944-1945. After his discharge, he won the weightlifting championship of Virginia in 1946, 1947, and 1948. He headed the Shenandoah County Public School Maintenance Division in the 1980's.
