Description
Portrait of Wilbur Odell "Web" Riley taken in a studio. He was born in Augusta, West Virginia, the son of the late George W. and Virginia (Hawkins) Riley.
He graduated from Lynchburg College and served in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. After that, he worked for 20 years as a Chevrolet Dealer in Woodstock. Web was very active in his community serving as Mayor, former member of the Virginia House of Delegates, former President of the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce, a realtor and an appraiser, a prime mover in the establishment of the Shenandoah County Memorial Hospital, a member of the Board of Directors of the Shenandoah Telephone Co., the Farmers Bank of Edinburg and Elder and member of the Woodstock Christian Church.
His wife was Ann T. Hundley and they had two sons, Wilbur O. Riley Jr., of Woodstock and George T. Riley of California, and a daughter, Susan (Riley) Lambiotte of Woodstock.
