Biographical Text
A native of New Market, and student of local history, Helen Bingham was proud of the fact that her ancestors owned Stanley Hall and that her parents managed the Pythian Children’s Home that operated there for many years in the mid 20th century.
An amateur archeologist, Helen maintained a collection of native rocks, fossils, artifacts, and petrified wood and joined digs throughout the Valley with archeological teams. She was also an active volunteer with the New Market Area Library and other local literacy groups.
