Moving to Shenandoah County in 1950, Amanda Brown turned the fields surrounding her house east of Maurertown into a “nature paradise” filled with plants that supported birds and small animals.
When she wasn’t planting Amanda supported the Shenandoah County Music Festival and various land conservation efforts.
