She was born near Toms Brook, VA in 1926, a daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Ethel May (Hahn) Kronk.
She graduated from Toms Brook High School where she was a member of the basketball team.
She married Carroll Edward Estep in 1945 and the couple spent over 60 years together prior to his death.
Janet was a former employee of Avtex Fibers, Inc. in Front Royal, VA. She had two sons: Carroll R. "Randy" and Philip A. Estep.
She lived in Strasburg in her later years.
