Description

Photograph of several unidentified workmen, most with shovels, standing beside or in a trench which runs down the middle of Main Street (Route 11) in Woodstock, Virginia. Piles of dirt are visible behind the men.

It is likely they were the workmen installing the town's first water system which was completed in 1901.
