This was the original home of the Walton family. It was operated as a lodging house in the 1930s and 1940s by Mable Lee Walton.

During the 1940s and early 1950s it was a hospital operated by Dr. Fravel.

In 1965 the home became the National Headquarters of the Tri Sigma sorority of which Walton was president for many years.
