Description
Photograph of the Mark Bird House, commonly called the "Birds Nest Inn," in Woodstock Virginia.
It was originally owned by Mark Bird, a County Judge during the 19th century. After his death it was used alternatively as a residence, a school, and an apartment building.
The house was located on Muhlenberg Street. In 1932, it was moved to an adjacent lot along Commerce Street to accommodate the new Woodstock Post Office.
A sign in the front yard says, "Govt Property Keep off".
