About

The Shenandoah County Library is dedicated to identifying, collecting, preserving, cataloging, and providing access to resources relating to the culture, history, life, and heritage of Shenandoah County.

This site is a part of our Shenandoah Room and Truban Archives. These facilities collect, preserve, and provide access too thousands of published works and primary sources related to this area's history. Its objective is to foster encounters with, and prompt questions about, various aspects of local history. The available items offer evidence of everyday life, education, health, religious practices, agriculture, material culture, technological developments, and economic activities from the past.

Users are invited to explore the accessible material with a view to discover connections between the past and the present. Distinct search modes allow both for simple or more complex voyages in pursuit of varied research interests.

Visitors are also invited to share their stories and experiences with us. Leave a comment if you have any connections, corrections, experiences, or additions related to the items. We will be happy to add these to the historic record.
