Dear Mother, I am at the USO. I’ll write you a letter later and tell you why I haven’t written, but I have been awfully busy. They are having a dance so I must stop.

P.S. I’ll start again because I didn’t see this space before. I get paid for the first time Friday since I got here from home. Then I’ll be out of debt again, I hope. Tell everyone hello. I just saw a good looking girl so I will write soon. Love, Joe xxxooo
