On February 8, 1836, a motion was filed in court by William and Susan Miller; Benjamin and Matilda Brown; and John K. Hoffman, Jr., to have the enslaved people of John K. Hoffman, Sr. (deceased) be sold. Dilly and her infant child were two of the people to be sold.
