Biographical Text

Lived in Pass Run of Shenandoah County (now in Page County).
In a pamphlet about her life, it is stated that Bethany was inherited by Lucy Fletcher upon death of James. Later, she was under the direction of David Kibler, Lucy's brother-in-law. Bethany described David as a "Dutchman,- a man of most violent temper," and Lucy as kind to her "as I then counted kindness."
