Description
Color postcard with a picture of the Strasburg Junction located southwest of the town of Strasburg Virginia.
The Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Company and the Orange, Alexandria, and Manassas Railroad created the junction when their rail lines met here in 1870. This interchange became an important connector between the east-west and north-south rail lines in the region.
The area also was once home to a sizable industrial community based on limestone quarries adjacent to the rail line.
