Description
Bonnie Mawyer came to Shenandoah County in 1975. Her and her husband Roger moved to the Avendale Acres subdivision in Mt. Jackson after he was hired to manage the WSIG radio station.
A third grade teacher at New Market Elementary School, Bonnie was especially interested in programs that permitted “students to go at their own pace.”
In her spare time Bonnie reported she loved gardening where they grew "tomatoes, peppers, spinach, green beans, and corn." She also cooked, specializing in "fatting goodies" and making preserves. Other activities included painting ceramics, quilting, bowling, and playing volleyball.
