Katie was the daughter of Andrew Jackson and Mary Ellen (Burner) Dinges. She grew up on a farm in Fort Valley.
She married Maynard Bauman Eastep (1900-1958) in February 1933 in Richmond. He was the son of Luther and Sarah (Hammond) Eastep. The couple lived in Strasburg at the time of their marriage.
Katie had two children: Galen Lee and Janet M. Eastep. When she died, she lived in Toms Brook.
