Letter:
Dear Family,
I have received all the letters now so I guess it’s time to write. Certainly did enjoy the box and think the other fellows did to. Send another soon but leave the candy or poogybait out till I get off the range because sugar is hard on the eyes.
You ask how long it took a letter to get here. It takes from three to four days.
We shot pistols for record yesterday. And I got sharpshooter rating which is 75% of 450 points I got 84% missing expert by one point.
That isn’t very important though, the 30 cal. rifle is most important. We threw practice grenades today and every one qualified. We leave the range a week from this coming Wednesday then we fool around a few days and then have Mess duty for a week after that a week of bayonet practice and then leave for our outposts. I am writing this in a recreation hall this is my first trip to one. Well it’s about time to quit and go home and go to bed. Love to all Joe XXXXX OO
