Dear Mother, I arrived about 4 hours ago and am going to try to write you now while the boys are out, some to the PX and others to the show.
The train trip certainly was interesting. I think Arizona was the most picturesque state, you would ride for miles in desert and suddenly come to miles of fertile irrigated soil.
Well, we arrived safe and sound with no mishaps. It’s about 52 miles to Dago & about 60 miles to Los Angeles, the nearest town is 2 miles.
Mother, I hope you got the second I made. I didn’t know what to say for once. I hope to get a promotion but still don’t know when. Tell all my girlfriends I’ll try to get them in Hollywood. Well, so long until next time. Love & Kisses, Joe XXXX
